A high acid and more aggressive marble polishing compound that will restore the natural polish of most marble and agglomerate surfaces.Extremely Aggressive
It can be used on natural marble surfaces such as: floors, vanities, table tops, countertops and walls. This formula is extremely aggressive for the more experienced professional. Use with a hogs hair pad.
Recommendations:
Always test on a small area before using.
Natural stone should be protected with SOLVENT BASED SEALER or WATER BASED SEALER.
Follow the recommended cleaning procedures for STONE FLOOR CLEANER and STONE COUNTERTOP CLEANER.
If heavy abrasions or scratches are on the surface, use HONING POWDER prior to using the polishing powder.
While in the container, MARBLE POLISHING POWDER buffing compound may absorb moisture and become hard. This will not affect the performance of the product.
Cover all surfaces that are not stone.
Always wear protective clothing such as safety goggles, gloves, and footwear.
Preparing the Surface:
Be sure that the surface is free from loose debris and sediment.
Dust/dry mop the floor surface at least two times daily.
Directions for Floor Surfaces:
POLISHING WITH AN AUTOMATIC SCRUBBER:
Thoroughly dust mop the surface.
Remove all topical coatings with low alkaline stripper. (Solvent based coatings must be removed with solvent based stripper).
Wet mop the surface using STONE FLOOR CLEANER.
Install a hogs hair or white pad to the drive pad of the machine. (Use hogs hair pads for more worn surfaces).
Generously spray water to the floor surface not to exceed a 160 square foot area.
Sprinkle MARBLE POLISHING POWDER onto the wet surface.
Proceed forward and backward with the scrubber staying within the perimeter of the wet area. For repolishing more worn surfaces, complete 8 to 10 passes. For maintenance, complete 4 to 6 passes.
Use a squeegee to move the loose paste off the work surface to see if the desired polish has developed. If it has not, push the paste back onto the work area.
Continue the buffing motion until the desired polish appears. Additional product may be used as necessary.
Extract the paste with the scrubber vacuum.
Mop rinse with STONE FLOOR CLEANER to neutralize any residues.
Buff with a clean soft white polishing pad.
*For heavily worn surfaces, HONING POWDER must be used to smooth the surface prior to using the polishing powder.
POLISHING WITH A MANUAL 175 RPM BUFFING MACHINE:
Dust mop the surface using a clean dust mop.
Remove all topical coatings with low alkaline stripper. (Solvent based strippers must be removed with a solvent based stripper).
Wet mop the stone surface using STONE FLOOR CLEANER and let it dry.
Spray water to the floor surface not to exceed a 16 square foot area.
For repolishing more worn surfaces, use aggressive hogs hair pads. For maintaining a polish, use clean white pads.
Sprinkle 1 to 2 tablespoons of MARBLE POLISHING POWDER to the wet surface. (Do not make a splashing slurry).
Proceed by operating the machine in a slow left to right sideward pattern. This will change the powder and water mixture into a loose paste. Stay within a 16 square foot perimeter. For repolishing, complete 12 to 14 left to right passes with a hogs hair pad. For maintaining a polish, complete 4 to 6 left to right passes with a white pad.
Keep the surface wet by spraying more water.
After completing the initial passes, pick up the slurry with a wet/dry vacuum.
As a haze forms on the surface, spray more water on the stone and buff in excess with a dry white pad.
Rinse with STONE FLOOR CLEANER to remove any remaining residue.
*For heavily worn surfaces, HONING POWDER must be used to smooth the surface prior to using the polishing powder.
Directions for Tabletops, Vanities, Walls, Columns:
Remove loose debris from the stone surface and spray clean with STONE COUNTERTOP CLEANER.
Strip off any remaining topical coating.
Cover all wall coverings and carpeted areas.
Use a white felt pad on the hand machine or use a damp terry cloth towel when polishing by hand.
Spray water onto the surface.
Sprinkle MARBLE POLISHING POWDER onto the water to create a paste.
Begin buffing by hand in a circular motion for 30 seconds or use a hand machine at low rpm's keeping the surface moist at all times.
Remove the paste with a squeegee before it dries to see if the desired polish has appeared. If not, push the paste back onto the surface and begin polishing again until the polish occurs. (Buffing action may take thirty seconds to three minutes to create a shine or repair an etch).
Rinse the surface with STONE COUNTERTOP CLEANER and let it set for one minute to neutralize the residue.
Wipe off the STONE COUNTERTOP CLEANER with a clean soft cloth.
Heavily worn and scratched surfaces should be polished with a thicker slurry.
Protect the surface with an application of COUNTERTOP/WALL POLISH.
